Solectrix is awarded the Hans Lang Supplier Award

This February we got to celebrate with MEKRA Lang as they were awarded the Daimler Supplier Award in the “Innovation” category. Today the new Mercedes-Benz Actros is already on the road as the first series-production truck worldwide to use digital rear-view mirrors – and MEKRA Lang is honoring Solectrix’s essential contribution to the revolutionare mirror replacement system with the Hans Lang Supplier Award in the “Service” category.

The cooperation between MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG and solectrix GmbH began in the fall of 2016. The stated common goal: The development of an innovative digital mirror replacement system. Since then, three Solectrix teams were busy with the series development project. Intermittently, up to 16 developers were working in parallel on FPGA design, software design, the development of software tests and the development of the hardware for the core module of the system. This makes us even more happy about the great appreciation shown to us with the award on July 4, 2019, at the KKC in Bad Windsheim.

Harald Emmert, Program Manager Electronics at MEKRA Lang, at the addressing Stefan Schütz, CEO of solectrix GmbH, at the awards ceremony: “As an independent service provider in the development of high-end electronics solutions, Solectrix has been a longtime partner of MEKRA Lang’s. As a development partner we must particularly mention the outstanding range of services in high-quality embedded image processing in hardware and firmware development.”

MEKRA Lang’s Hans Lang Supplier Award is awarded annually to the best suppliers in the categories “production material” and “service” for above-average performance and the partner-like collaboration. On July 4, 2019, MEKRA Lang staged its 14th Supplier Day. About 120 partners and suppliers had accepted the invitation to the KKC in Bad Windsheim.

We sincerely thank MEKRA Lang for this high accolade and look forward to further innovative cooperation projects.

Solectrix presents medical innovations at MedtecLIVE 2019

The SX Mobile Device Kit and Aegolus in the focus of visitor interest at the Solectrix booth

Presented at a trade fair stand in a new look, the latest electronic developments in the field of medical technology attracted the visitors of the first MedtecLIVE to the Solectrix booth. Above all, the starter package for developers of mobile devices and the further development of the 3D live system Aegolus aroused great interest and opened up promising, new contacts.

The SX Mobile Device Kit: the easy way to a customized mobile device

Increasingly, medical professionals, patients and health-conscious consumers are using mobile devices to diagnose and treat diseases or monitor health condition. No wonder, then, that the health apps market continues to boom. With the new SX Mobile Device Kit, innovative ideas for mobile devices can be implemented directly and reliably in professional use. Particularly appealing: In addition to hardware and software, the Mobile Device Kit also includes a flexible housing concept. For the first time, a specially produced demonstrator provided an impression of the numerous design and functional possibilities of the kit.

Aegolus, presented as a complete system

For the first time, Solectrix also presented the low-latency Aegolus 3D live system - in addition to the upgrade solution for existing optical stereoscopic microscopes - as a standalone complete system. Within this system the latest generation of Solectrix '4K UHD camera heads replaces the optical microscope. The digital 3D camera monitor system opens up new possibilities in terms of image quality, but also in terms of efficient digital processing and documentation of acquired data. An exhibit to touch! And our visitors took their chance. Using two grips, they placed the digital camera heads fixed in a swiveling arm exactly in the desired position to the object, convinced themselves of the high-performance data processing for an accurate 3D image in real time, of the eye-tracking of the patented 3D technology from SeeFront and of the benefits of fatigue-free working, independent of slide and eyepiece.

Thank you

With the merger of MT-Connect and Medtec Europe into MedtecLIVE, NürnbergMesse wanted to "create a medical technology platform for a high-quality exchange among each other". The intensive discussions with our booth visitors proved them right. Reason enough for us to be part of MedtecLIVE 2020 again. Many thanks to all who visited us at the MedtecLIVE and made our participation in the fair a success. We look forward to developing concrete projects with your visionary ideas and implementing them together with you.

Moving Systems-on-Chips (SoCs) out of the Shadows

Solectrix puts the spotlight on SoCs at embedded world 2019

With its clear structure separating products, developments and research projects, Solectrix’s open booth concept presented the trade show visitors with a wide spectrum of electronic high-end solutions. Multiple live demonstrations and trade show exhibits invited booth visitors to interact and gave extensive insight into current developments. These ranged from the digital mirror replacement system, a celebrated innovation of the new Daimler actros that will soon be seen on the roads, to the 3D live system Aegolus that advances the progress in modern microscopy to a glasses-free 3K UHD 3D system with applications in lab work, medical technology and industrial automation, to the evolution of the modular video and data grabbing system for ADAS and HiL applications with adapters for almost any automotive camera, or to project ideas to embed artificial intelligence.

But with the motto being “Invent your SoC”, the focus of this year’s trade show appearance was on Systems-on-Chips. These have long become a staple of many embedded systems. But many customers still underestimate their potential and fear the effort involved. And yet, SoCs that combine multiple complex functionalities in one chip can make systems smaller, more energy efficient and more flexible, to name just a few of their advantages. Our electronics experts use intelligent SoC FPGA platforms in many of our high-end solutions, like our digital mirror replacement system. Solutions with SoC FPGAs require a complex approach. With the SXoM Starter Kit and the SX Mobile Device Kit we want to make it easy for our customers to take the first steps into SoC development.

The SoC topic seemed to hit a nerve with media representatives, too. Both The Official Daily and Markt&Technik had extensive reports on it. The latter even invited Solectrix CEO Stefan Schütz and project lead Benedikt Appold to their VIP stage to discuss how to better seize the opportunities of SoC solutions.

We’re pleased with a successful trade show appearance, rich in many stimulating discussions, interesting new contacts, work meetings in a slightly different setting and media events. We thank everyone who took the time to pay our booth a visit and are already looking forward to the joint projects ahead of us.
